The Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 was created as a less costly, more portable alternative to the beloved Prophet 5 and its six voices are a lot like the 5 but with a darker sound and slightly different envelope behavior thanks to the implementation of digital envelopes. It packs a lot of features into a slim, lightweight package in a way that was exceedingly rare among 80s synths, still offering knob-per-function control and Sequential’s classic “poly-mod” modulation section that allows you to explore audio frequency modulation, along with MIDI, an arpeggiator and a real time polyphonic sequencer.

With a brand new membrane panel, all Curtis chips replaced and a refurbished keybed, the typical pitfalls have been eliminated from this unit so it would be a great choice for a reliable vintage synth that’s not a nightmare to carry to shows. It also comes with a ONE YEAR SERVICE WARRANTY if purchased in person from us!

We believe in transparency when selling “pro serviced” synths so always include documentation of what services every synth we sell has received. Our approach to servicing vintage instruments entails both making sure every synth is working 100% now, and eliminating common failure points to preempt future issues.

This unit received the following services while it was here with us:

• Power supply update: replaced all electrolytic and tantalum capacitors, rectifier diodes and regulators, reflowed solder joints
• NOTE: unit was received with no Curtis 3340 oscillator or 3372 voice chips so ALL have been replaced. Oscillator chips have been replaced with new-production authentic Curtis oscillator chips and 3372 voice chips have been replaced with the excellent new ALFA replica clones on our custom retrofit adapters. We have not been able to note any differences between these and the originals.
• Replaced all tantalum capacitors throughout unit
• Replaced battery
• Keybed disassembled, key contact strips cleaned and gold contacts on circuit board polished
• Calibrated to factory standards
• Testing and 24+ hour burn in period

Cosmetic condtion: Panel is unusually clean with no scratches or rubbed away areas, but there is notable wear to end cheeks: some crescent-shaped indentations on the left side and a 3/4″x1/4″ chip in the back corner and 2-3″ wide section where the finish is much lighter on the front side of the right end cheek.
