The Prophet 600 can be thought of as a more portable and affordable, 6-voice alternative to the Prophet 5 with a somewhat darker sound but many of the same features; once serviced, it can be of the most reliable and user-friendly vintage American polysynths. It has MIDI and was famously the first American synth sold with MIDI, and also features a built-in arpeggiator and realtime sequencer!

CONDITION / SERVICE DETAILS

We believe in transparency when selling “pro serviced” synths so always include documentation of what services every synth we sell has received. Our approach to servicing vintage instruments entails both making sure every synth is working 100% now, and eliminating common failure points to preempt future issues.

This unit received the following services while it was here with us:

  • This unit was acquired stripped of its CEM3372 voice chips, so they have been replaced with ALFA's perfect-match AS3372 clones on our own custom adapter boards
  • All new CEM3340 oscillator chips
  • Membrane "button" panel replaced with brand new replica from LASynthCo
  • Power supply updated with new electrolytic capacitors, regulators and rectifiers
  • All CV multiplexer ICs replaced
  • Calibrated to factory standards
