The Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 is one of our favorite synths around here! It's a beautiful-sounding, deceptively simple synth with wonderful depth. This particular unit has MIDI, 120 programs, has been upgraded to not need a battery for memory, and is also in the most immaculate physical condition of any vintage Prophet 5 we have had come through.

CONDITION / SERVICE DETAILS

We believe in transparency when selling “pro serviced” synths so always include documentation of what services every synth we sell has received. Our approach to servicing vintage instruments entails both making sure every synth is working 100% now, and eliminating common failure points to preempt future issues.

This unit received the following services while it was here with us:

  • Power supply fully rebuilt with new capacitors, rectifiers, and regulators
  • All tantalum capacitors replaced throughout
  • All controls cleaned
  • MIDI installed (original Sequential Circuits MIDI firmware)
  • Pratt Read keyboard rebuild: leveld, bushings replaced, bus bars and key contacts cleaned and aligned
  • Upgraded with the mods we designed to allow it to retain memory without a battery, and pitch bend a perfect 5th up and down.
  • Tuned and calibrated to Sequential Circuits specifications
