It's time for another DIY Repair Workshop at Bell Tone Synth Works! Bring something that you have that is need of minor repair and the professional techs on our team will coach you through learning how to fix it. Other types of musical equipment other than synthesizers are also welcome at this event (see below).
Every attendee will get at least 1 hour of one-on-one tech time tailored to their project and skill level, and the opportunity to learn a bit about whatever topics come up during the repair: common issues and their causes, troubleshooting strategies, instrument construction, how to use test equipment, how to solder.
This could also be a great opportunity to get help with a repair on something we don't normally work on or an issue that seems too minor to warrant bringing it in for our standard treatment.
Categories of gear:
synths, keyboards, drum machines
Eurorack and other modular synth modules
mixers
effects pedals and other effects units
solid state amps (no tube amps)
electric guitars and basses*
help with DIY builds in progress
Example types of repairs:
- keyboard key contact issues - keys double triggering or not playing
- dirty/noisy or broken potentiometers and sliders
- finicky audio and DC jacks
- things that work with batteries but not with their adaptors
- internal memory battery replacements
- *electric guitar and bass wiring and controls
Most inexpensive parts and supplies will be included in the "ticket" price.
If we discover that your instrument needs a part that we don't have in stock, we can order it and then there will be a follow up session where these repairs can be finished up (date TBD).
Workshop Location:
Bell Tone Synth Works
7000 Terminal Square
Theater Entrance - Suite 100A, FL2
Upper Darby, PA 19082
We are using this page to sell "tickets" because we have set up limited spots with specific time slots to make sure there will be enough technicians to help the number of attendees present at any given time. Select a time slot from the list and try to be on time for your selected time slot!
If you already know what instrument/piece of equipment you are going to bring, include the name of the instrument and a brief description of its issue in the "Order Note" section at check-out so we can do some research to get ready.
